The River Jam Festival returned to Biddeford this weekend. River Jam Festival, celebrating life along the Saco River, took place in Biddeford on Aug. 19 and 20.
Now in its eighth year, the festival hit its stride with an arts extravaganza on Main Street Friday night hosted by Engine and an all-day family event on Saturday in Mechanics Park hosted by Heart of Biddeford, said its director, Delilah Poupore.
Poupore is enthusiastic about this free community celebration.
Delilah Poupore has been executive director at the Heart of Biddeford for 10 years, and in her tenure has worked with 175 volunteers.
River Jam began with the idea of an amazing music festival that would feature musical artists in the “Roots” genres, Poupore explained.

The event kicked off with local music artist including Sarah patil local star. This year main attraction was Bollywood dance group by Seema Patil a veteran Bollywood actress and of course plenty of activities for the kids.

Several community groups set up stations while local vendors served festival goers.
There were a number of unique offerings including horse drawn wagon rides and cruises on the Saco River.
The long day of fun wrapped with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
