Golf legend Tiger Woods was arrested on Friday following a rollover car crash near his home in Florida, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred on a two-lane road on Jupiter Island, where Woods’ vehicle overturned after attempting to pass another vehicle. He was able to exit the car on his own, and no serious injuries were reported.
Law enforcement officials stated that Woods showed signs of impairment at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). However, a breath test later confirmed that no alcohol was present in his system, and investigators are now looking into the possibility of medication or other substances.
Woods also declined to undergo a urine test, which resulted in an additional charge under Florida law.
The 15-time major champion has faced similar incidents in the past, including a DUI-related case in 2017 and a serious car accident in 2021. Authorities have confirmed that the current charges are misdemeanors, and the case remains under investigation.
