India are through to the final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 after beating New Zealand in a high-scoring match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, with Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami and Shreyas Iyer the key performers on the day.
India hammered New Zealand by 70 runs to qualify for the ODI Cricket World Cup final for the first time in 12 years, thanks to Mohammed Shami’s seven-wicket haul. The Rohit Sharma-led side is just one win away from ending a 10-year drought for an ICC trophy. Shami took 7/57 as India bowled New Zealand out for 327 while defending a total of 397. Earlier, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer hit centuries to power India to 397/4 after Rohit Sharma opted to bat first. During his knock, Virat Kohli surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s mark of 49 ODI tons.
