An 15 year old Thornton Academy High School junior Sarah Sandeep Patil became the first teen to represent state of Maine in Miss Teen India USA beauty pageant 2022 was held on August 5, 2022 at the Royal Albert palace in Edison , NJ. Sarah did not want to lose opportunity to participate in her first pageant ever.
Being Micro preemie baby weighing only 450 grams Sarah’s parents enrolled her in martial arts to build her self esteem. Sarah started her Taekwondo training at the age of six, her integrity, determination and hard work made her achieve over 100 medals in National/ international Taekwondo championships . She is 1st Dan degree black belt in Teakwondo.
During Covid this girl followed her inner voice and dedicated her time for singing and has been learning piano and guitar from YouTube videos. “Quarantine has been a blessing for my singing dream “ Sarah Said. Sarah doesn’t consider herself self taught “ Self-taught is a slightly misleading term, because you will never be self taught in the literal sense of the word, you will always learn from YouTube , online coaches from other artists ” Sarah continued.
An artist by heart,Sarah Patil so proud of her graceful performance in all rounds at Miss India Teen Maine 2022. “My curiosity make me try new things. Pageant was one of them. I don’t wear full makeup or never ever wear tall heels until now. I wanted to challenge myself and put myself out there and do something that I wasn’t really familiar with,” she said. “Preparing for this pageant help me gain the skills was hidden inside me.
Sarah has participated as singer in many local event. From last two years Sarah participating a very well known events of North America is Yarmouth Clam festival and Biddeford Riverjam festival where thousands of people travel across the world to attend these festival has a rich history. This summer Sarah sung total five songs front of hundreds. Sarah loves reading , swimming, cycling and most spending time with her younger sister Simmone in her spare time.
